Preparations for Orthopedic Surgery

At Järva Specialist Care, you will be taken care of in a calm environment in our excellent surgical department with two fully equipped operating rooms.

We perform orthopedic surgeries under local anesthesia, which means you will be awake during the procedure.

You may eat and drink before the surgery.

You must not wear makeup, nail polish, or jewelry.

If you have wounds, blemishes, or pimples near the surgical area 1-2 weeks before the surgery, the procedure should be postponed due to the risk of infection.

Read the appointment letter you received at home and follow our instructions.

The time you have been given is approximate, and some waiting time may occur.

For some surgeries, we would like you to sit and rest for a while afterwards and have a cup of coffee or tea before going home. You will then have the opportunity to speak with the doctor, ask your questions, receive sick leave and prescriptions. Plan to be here for about 1-2 hours in total, depending on the surgery you are having.

For simpler surgeries, you can go home immediately afterwards. Plan to be here for about 30 minutes.

Before you go home, you will receive a follow-up appointment with us. We always follow up on our surgeries.

NOTE! The above preparations apply only to orthopedic surgeries.
